The good ones: love, joy, satisfaction, happiness, leave our bodies and minds feeling great. However, the bad ones: stress, anger, anxiety, worry don’t leave our bodies or our minds feeling great at all.
So, what happens next?
You guessed it, we start feeling pains in places like our lower back, our neck and shoulders, our stomachs. Usually, we put it down to old age or maybe a bad mattress, not enough sleep or a lack of vitamins, but it’s got nothing to do with any of those things. Our body is storing unresolved issues, it really is as simple as that! Before we know it, our minds are on overdrive, we lack motivation and focus, and we start to struggle with our personal and professional relationships.
When we don’t release our emotions properly, we store them in our bodies as well as our minds. So now we have to deal with both the mind and the body to get ourselves back on track. We have been told that we need to use our mind to affect our bodies, but what if I told you, it’s resetting your body that will relax your mind? If we can get to the bottom of what’s causing us to be in a funk or why we are in a constant state of worry, we are taking the right steps on the road to recovery.
Why not just go do a workout right?
If only it were that easy! For some of us the thought of a workout is just added pressure and can end up increasing our anxiety instead of helping us to release it. I know you’re wondering how you’re supposed to fix things if something as simple as a workout is creating an issue. Let me share my secret with you, we have to take a look at what’s going on with us on the inside first.
Before we can get to our mind, we need to calm our body down so we can focus clearly to find out what the cause of the anxiety is and what’s triggering it. The best way I’ve found to calm the body is by using somatic movements and breathwork.
Somatic movements encourage our bodies to release our unresolved issues that they’ve been storing. The movements activate our ‘rest and digest’ response and help us to calm down and relax. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to reset your body and relax your mind every day?

I was exhausted mentally and physically, struggling to juggle my everyday life with a mind that was constantly racing. My mind was a mess, I wasn’t sleeping well, I was in physical pain, and my relationships with my husband and children were suffering. I wasn’t the best version of myself in any part of my life.
On the outside, it looked like my life was perfect. I had a great husband, wonderful children, and a thriving business. But deep down, I knew something had to change. My breaking point came when I lay curled up on the bathroom floor of my beauty academy, crying and experiencing one of the worst anxiety attacks of my life.
In November 2019, everything fell apart. My business partner suddenly disappeared, leaving me in a state of high anxiety. Two weeks later, my mom passed away, and I was devastated. My anxiety peaked, and 2020 brought the global pandemic, crushing my business. I was overwhelmed with daily migraines, IBS, and anxiety attacks.
Determined to find a solution, I tried various traditional methods without success. My husband then gave me “The 5 Second Rule” by Mel Robbins, which marked the beginning of my journey. Inspired by the book, I discovered Dr. Russell Kennedy, an expert in anxiety. His methods transformed my understanding of my anxiety and its physical symptoms. With newfound determination, I collected tools and techniques to regain control over my life.
And you know what? I did it! Everything worked out for me!
I can’t describe how it felt to have mental freedom again. So, what did I do next? I tested my collection of tools and techniques on others too and guess what? The same things worked for them!
